This is the part that I absolutely love! I am going to make a very bold statement.

You can handle every single objection that is thrown at you, easily, professionally, confidently. And, in doing so, remember the golden rule:

Having said that, here is a list of likely objections that you will get and here is how we handle them:

If you come across someone who is nasty and vindictive, then simply say this: “Thank you for sharing your view. I’ll leave it there.”

If someone asks you a question that you cannot answer, simply say “I don’t actually know, but what I do know is…”

Use the Feel, Felt, and Found formula: In other words: “I know how you feel. I felt the same way. But then I found…”

If somebody says to you, “I don’t know,” simply say, “I know you don’t know, but if you did know, what would you say?” And then wait for their answer.

If someone says to you, “I’d like to think about it,” just smile and say, “Of course — what would you want to think through?”

At times, someone might say to you, “You’re racist” “You fascist b****d” “I hate Reform” and so on – the usual diatribe. What should you do? It’s simple. Don’t argue. Smile, disengage, and walk away. (Trust me, they simply don’t know!)

Someone might say to you, “Shove your leaflet where the sun doesn’t shine” just smile and say, Best to smile and say: “No problem — have a good day.” Then smile, disengage cleanly and walk away.

If someone has a complaint, suggestion, etc., just say “That’s interesting. Tell me more”
